Bangkok, Day 6. Well I'm still waking up at around 03.30hrs but at least I managed to get back to sleep again after a short time and then woke about 08.30hrs. R was already up and in the shower.

Today we had a very chilled day with nothing planned. Partly this was to try and stop us being exhausted in the late afternoon and napping for like 5 hrs!!

So we had some breakfast (coconut yoghurt and a pastry - a breakfast for champions lol!), put on the washing, did some general cleaning and tidying, then we both did some computer tasks (R looking for a new place to eat nearby and me doing my 'blog/diary').

Around lunchtime we headed out for some lunch at Took Lae Dee Restaurant in Thong Lor. This is the sort of restaurant that you would find in a retail store like M&S or Debenhams back home. It's not fancy but it has good air conditioning, nice menus, a good selection of food, good prices, lovely staff and it was busy with locals (always a good sign).

We both had very enjoyable dishes. I had glass noodles, stir-fried with chicken and vegetables and an iced tea, and R had stir-fried flat rice noodles in soya sauce with pork and kale. Afterwards, we both had a chilled soy bean curd pudding in coconut milk with young coconut slices, which was very lovely indeed. The total cost of this meal was 421 baht (£9.74).

After lunch we had a little wander around the small shopping mall, then on our way back to the apartment we nipped into the 7/11 to get a few grocery items and we couldn't resist a lovely lady selling various types of roti, so we just HAD to get a banana roiti (40 baht / £0.93) as that was yet another item on our 'food items to try' list. It barely lasted 5 minutes after we got into the apartment and it was totally scrumptious.

We both did a little more computer stuff, read our books and watched some videos on our laptops as we were desperate not to have a nap, even though we both started to feel the napping bug yapping at our feet.

We stayed in for dinner and had some of our 7/11 grocery hall which consisted of a chicken fried rice (which was surprising nice), some jackfruit and a little coconut cake thingy for dessert.

Overall, it was a lovely, relaxing day, and we need to make sure we include these types of days within our weekly routine.
