If we explored the right-hand side of Sukhumvit Road yesterday, can you hazard a guess which side we did today? Yes, you got it – we went straight ahead! Only kidding, we were out to see what the left-hand side had in store for us.

We went onto the skywalk nearest to us, and very quickly we found ourselves at a beautiful building that had an awesome-looking garden and frontage – it struck us as looking very Japanese.

One City Centre

It turned out that this building and the outdoor space were part of One City Centre. This is primarily an office building, the tallest office building in Thailand, actually. It opened in July 2023. It stands 275.8 meters high and comprises 62 stories of office space and 3 stories of retail space. It is connected to the Phloen Chit BTS station with a skywalk, which is designed as a park and green space area. On the 37th floor, there is a rooftop lounge, and the top floor also has a rooftop bar and restaurant with amazing city views. The base floor offers a courtyard and retail shops, featuring Japanese restaurants and famous local food courts. In addition, the building has co-working spaces and meeting rooms available for rent in common areas.

We had a lovely little nosey around the garden and courtyard areas of this building, and we suspect it is probably accessible in the evening to sit out in this area.

See more details about it below:

Central Chidlom

We then left the skywalk as it doesn’t go any further at this point, and we crossed over to Central Embassy to make our way to Central Chidlom (yes, yet another mall), passing the iconic Dior Café as we did so.

Dior Café

This has a stunning visual façade, which is very visual. Now this is a luxury style café, so clearly R and I did not enter, but we wouldn’t have been able to anyway, as you need to reserve a table online. How do we know this? Well, from S&R of course, who have been to it. If you ever find yourself in Bangkok and fancy it, then you can find their menu here.

Gaysorn Amarin

Then we went into one of our favourite places: the Gaysorn Amarin. Again, it’s a stunning looking building, and this one has the Louis Vuitton café and restaurant on the ground floor, but you need to book that one MONTHS in advance (according to S&R), not that we planned on going there anyway. No, for us it was off to the food court for lunch. The food court is located on the 4th floor, and it has a large selection of different foods to choose from. I got a Chinese pork noodle dish, and R got another type of pork noodle dish. Both were very good, but I think mine was slightly better.

After that, we decided to call it a day and head back to the apartment. Picking up a few groceries for the evening dinner and also treating ourselves to another flavour of Mixue.
