On Nut area

Today’s plan is to explore the On Nut area, which is easily accessible by the Sukhumvit BTS line. We’ve heard a lot about this area in various YouTube blogs, and as we are becoming more familiar with Bangkok, we aim to investigate some areas further afield from the general tourist areas.

Well, this area was very underwhelming for us. It had a Big C, a large Lotus (both grocery stores), a number of local market areas and vendors, a mall, the BTS station (obviously) and several high-rise condos nearby.

We walked around the area and found it just a little too noisy and busy with traffic. Don’t get me wrong, being in the middle of Bangkok is very noisy and busy, but there just seems to be lots more to do and better options and places to escape the noise and traffic.

After being around the area for a time, we grabbed some lunch in the Lotus food court and then we both agreed to head home, as there was nothing else that we were really interested in seeing.

In the afternoon, I spent some time in and by the pool, just reading my latest book (Alan Davis’s memoir “Just Ignore Him”). Although I was the only person in the pool area, it turns out I was not alone. As I later discovered that my feet were very itchy, so having escaped a single bite since we arrived, I now had quite a few bites on my feet – little buggers!
