Three Malls in One Day

Today we planned to revisit the Lot 10 mall and then head to the Starhill mall, which is across from the Pavilion mall. Yes, I know, so many malls! However, spoiler alert: we never quite made it to Starhill Mall, as we ended up taking a look at two more malls on our way to Lot 10. We were too knackered by that point, so we are saving Starhill for another day…

Plaza Low Yat

Plaza Low Yat is a shopping centre specialising in electronics and IT products in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. In 2009, Plaza Low Yat was named “Malaysia’s Largest IT Lifestyle Centre” by the Malaysian Book of Records. Although it is quite a nice-looking shopping mall, it was very busy and full of ‘techy’ guys trying to sell you something. I’m sure if you needed something fixed or had to buy a new (or second-hand) electronic piece of equipment, then this is the place to go – but it wasn’t really for us, so we moved on after our brief visit.

Sungei Wang Plaza

Next was Sungei Wang Plaza. This is yet another shopping centre in Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The mall has an aggregate retail floor area of approximately 800,000 square feet. It is quite a large mall, and we had a look around, but again, we were not really that interested in anything. There are a lot of individual sellers, so I’m sure there are probably good bargains to be had, but we never really saw anything that we liked or needed. So it was onto our next destination.

Lot 10

Lot 10 is a shopping mall in Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It opened in the early 1990s but has been updated since then. We actually quite liked this mall, even though it is quite old. It is not too big, we loved the wooden panels and curves of the layout, and we really liked all the Japanese stores and food places in it. This is where we had bought our first evening’s meal in KL when we arrived, from the Japanese grocery on the lower floor. We both had a delicious katsu curry dish here, and then we went back to the grocery store to get a few dinner items and bakery treats for the evening.
