Woo hoo - our bags are packed!
The first in a series of travel blogs from two retirees who pretend they know what they’re doing while documenting every inevitable travel disaster for your amusement

So hello to any friends and family who follow our adventures here and anyone who stumbles across this blog by accident (or indeed misfortune!).
After a lot of research and planning, the time has arrived for R (that's hubby) and me (I'm Liz by the way) to set off on our first experience of a 3-month travel adventure to Southeast Asia. It would be an accurate statement to say that we are excited beyond belief at this prospect. Truthfully, we feel like two giddy teenagers just starting together (although we have been together for quite a long time!).
Throughout this blog (and note I've never done a blog before, so this could be painful for all of us - you have been warned!), we hope to document our experiences and travels and have something to look back on in the future once we return home again. I'm looking at this as a sort of travel diary and just somewhere where I can put my thoughts, ideas, plans and experiences down. It will also serve as a travel update for those who are interested in this sort of thing. If we can inspire or help others avoid any mishaps we come across, then that will be a bonus for us too. So buckle up, it might get bumpy at times, but that's all part of the fun.
We are both testing the waters with different ideas - R's got an idea for a YouTube channel he wants to create (although our daughter has just reeled in horror at the prospect of him possibly being on Instagram too!). We hope to be learning new skills along the way (I like to think of us as creative introverts), so if this sounds like something that may be of interest to you (or if you just want to laugh at our expense) - then please come along with us on our first retirement journey.
Travel bags are packed.
